One of the biggest things that will get in the way of any kind of work around the house – especially things such as remodeling that is not a major priority – is money. Not all of us have massive bedroom-sized bathrooms though, so remodeling on a budget may be easier for smaller bathrooms. Here at some small bathroom remodel ideas that will make big differences in appearance for a small price.
The very first thing that you can do to change the look of any bathroom is to paint it. It’s amazing how much of a difference a couple of coats of paint can make on the overall feel of a bathroom. For $20 (or less), so can completely change the look of your bathroom. This type of change requires little to no experience or skills – everyone is capable of painting (some of us are just sloppier than others).
A second, but still very simple bathroom remodel idea is to change all of the hardware in your small bathroom. Hardware consists of things such as faucets, towel racks, handles on cabinets, etc. You’d be surprised how little these things actually cost, but how noticeable they are when you change them. Faucets and showerheads can be a little pricey (up to around $100 for nicer ones), but can be worth it when you are remodeling a bathroom on a budget.
A third cheap, but still effective way to make a difference in your bathroom is to polish and re-grout your tile. If you look at any older bathroom, it’s easy to see that the tile has lost its shine over time, and the grout in between the tiles is not as vibrant and beautiful as it used to be. They are products you can use to polish and really shine up bathroom tiles to their original luster. As far as the grout, you have a few options. If it is white grout, try some bleach. A lot of times the bleach will whiten it back to it’s original beauty. If it isn’t white, re-grouting it is an easy enough task. Grout is fairly inexpensive and will make the entire room look a lot more vibrant.
